Privacy Statement EURAXESS Germany

 

EURAXESS Germany – the National Coordination Point at the DLR Project Management Agency is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It provides information and assistance to internationally mobile researchers moving to Germany or to other countries to work in research.

 

I. Name and address of the controller

The welcome page (“EURAXESS Home”) as well as the parts “Information & Assistance” and “Network EURAXESS Germany” are provided and maintained by the DLR Project Management Agency. All other parts of the website are provided by the European Commission. Concerning the data processing for those parts, we kindly refer to the Privacy Statement EURAXESS.

The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation and the German Federal Data Protection Act as well as other data protection provisions, is:

III. General remarks on data processing

We process personal data concerning our users exclusively to the extent required to provide a functioning website, as well as content and services. In principle, we will only process the personal data of our users after obtaining their consent. Cases in which prior consent is factually impossible and the processing of user data is permitted by law constitute an exception to this rule.

The personal data of the data subject will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of the storage ceases to apply.

The data may be stored beyond this time if this is provided for by the European or national legislator in Union directives, laws or other regulations to which the controller is subject. The data will also be blocked or deleted on expiry of a storage period as specified in the named standards, unless the continued storage of the data is necessary for the conclusion or fulfilment of a contract.

V. Contact via e-mail

a. Description and scope of the data processing

It is possible to contact us via the provided e-mail address. In this case, the personal data of the user transmitted with the e-mail will be stored.

The data is not transferred to third parties in this context. The data is used exclusively for processing the correspondence.

b. Legal basis for data processing

The legal basis for processing of the data in the event that consent has been received from the user is set out in point (a) of Art. 6 (1) of the GDPR.

c. Purpose of the data processing

We use the personal data you provide in your e-mail to process your enquiry. In order to improve our products and services we analyse your inquiries at irregular intervals, even after they have been settled, for anonymous improvement reports.

d. Duration of storage

The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer needed to achieve the purpose of its collection. This is the case after two years at the latest.

e. Right to objection and removal (opt-out option)

The user is entitled to revoke their consent to the processing of personal data at any time. The user may object to the processing of personal data at any time by contacting us by email. Correspondence will be discontinued in these cases.

All personal data stored in connection with contacting us will be deleted in this case.

 

VI. Mailinglist

a. Description and scope of data processing

It is possible for you to sign up for our mailing list so that you will be informed about upcoming events and news within the EURAXESS network. The following data will be collected: Your name, institution and e-mail address.

No data will be passed on to third. Your data will only be used to send e-mails to you.

b. Legal basis for data processing

The legal basis for processing data after registering for the mailing list is point (a) of Art. 6 (1) of the GDPR if the user’s consent has been given.

c. Purpose of data processing

The user’s email address is collected in order to deliver the e-mail.

The collection of any other personal data during the registration process serves to prevent a misuse of the services or a misuse of the email address. Further we document the user’s consent.

d. Duration of storage

The data will be deleted as soon as the purpose for its collection no longer applies. The user's e-mail address and other personal data are therefore stored as long as the newsletter subscription is active.

e. Right to objection and removal (opt-out option)

The user can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time by sending an e-mail to info@euraxess.de

In this case, all personal data will be deleted.

 

VII. Registration for events

a. Description and scope of the data processing

Users have the opportunity to register for events organized by EURAXESS Germany. The data is entered into an input screen and then transmitted to and stored by us. Your data will not be passed on to third parties. The following data can be collected during the registration process: Name, Title, Organization/Institution, Department, Street Address, Postal Code, State, Phone Number, E-mail Address

During the registration procedure we will ask for the consent to process your data.

b. Legal basis for data processing

If the user has declared his / her consent, point (a) of Art. 6 (1) of the GDPR is the legal basis for processing their data

c. Purpose of processing

User registration is required to organize the event. The data is essential to prepare and organize the event, for the transmission of event documents/presentations, for the event documentation as well as for the evaluation of the event.

d. Duration of storage

Your data will be deleted as soon as the purpose of its collection ceases to apply.

e. Right to objection and removal (opt-out option)

As a user, you can cancel your registration at any time. You can also change the date, which are stored about you, at any time.

 

VIII. Web analysis by Matomo (formerly PIWIK)

We use on our website the open source software tool Matomo to analyse our user’s online behaviour. Please refer to our Cookie Statement.

 

IX. Rights of the data subject

Where personal data concerning you is processed, you are the data subject as defined in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and you have the following rights with respect to the controller:

  • Right of information, Article 15, GDPR
  • Right of correction, Article 16, GDPR
  • Right to delete, Article 17, GDPR
  • Right to limit processing, Article 18 GDPR
  • Right to object against the collection, processing and/or use, Article 21 GDPR
  • Right to data portability, Article 20 GDPR

You have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of data at any time, with future effect. In the event that you withdraw consent, we will delete the data concerned immediately, except where processing can be based on legal grounds that do not require consent. The withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal of consent.

You shall have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you consider that the processing of personal data concerning you infringes the GDPR.
