Networks for returning researchers
German Academic International Network (GAIN)
GAIN supports the return of German academics to Germany as well as cooperation between researchers in Germany and North America.
German Scholars Organization (GSO)
The German Scholars Organization e.V. (GSO) was founded in June 2003 as a non-profit organization for German academic professionals living and working abroad. The organization's primary focus is to reverse Germany's "brain drain" and turn it into a "brain gain". The GSO offers a wide range of services for its members, such as individual career coaching, workshops and talent fairs.
The network is provided free of charge and is open to Germany-Alumni, that is, individuals from around the world who have studied, worked or conducted research in Germany. Anyone who has received education or training at a German institution abroad is also welcome to become a member of the portal. It also offers a platform for companies, universities and organisations operating at international level who wish to stay or get in touch with Germany-Alumni.
EURAXESS Worldwide is a networking tool for European researchers working outside Europe and non-European researchers wishing to pursue a research career in Europe.
