JOB POSITION: Pre-doctoral Researcher in Environmental Technology

PROJECT TITLE: LIFE W2B - Sustainable Transformation of Waste to Biomethane, through Innovative Upgraded Anaerobic Digestion and Gasification.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project aims to engineer, construct and operate two biological processes for biomethane production. Firstly, a pilot biofilter system for syngas biomethanation will be designed, constructed and optimized. Secondly, a pilot algal-bacterial photobioreactor for biogas upgrading will be designed, constructed and optimized.

Task to be performed include: Supervision of the detailed engineering of the pilot plants. Operation and monitoring of the pilot plants (in Greece). Preparation of reports and presentations. Dissemination Activities. Other project-related tasks.

DURATION: 01/01/2026 - 31/08/2029 

MONTHLY GROSS SALARY: €1,900 (approx.)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• Oral and written communication skills in English.
• Candidates should be motivated by research and professional development, with a serious and committed approach to their work responsibilities.
