Offer Description

The purpose of the contract is to collaborate in the development of cancer epidemiological surveillance, with special interest in colorectal and pancreatic cancer, developing the following functions:

  • Support in the review of cancer cases, and in the validation of basic tumour characteristics: location, morphology, basis of diagnosis, date of diagnosis and staging.
  • Coding of incident cancers using the international classification of diseases for oncology and assignment of tumour stage according to international recommendations.
  • Database cleaning and epidemiological analysis of data.
  • Participation in report writing and scientific publications.
  • Dissemination of results at scientific meetings.

  • Qualification: Degree in Nursing or other Degrees in Science or Health Sciences.
  • Not have an employment relationship with the Fundación para la Investigación e Innovación Biosanitaria de Atención Primaria on the date of publication in the Boletin oficial de la Comunidad de Madrid of the Extracto de la Orden 2277/2024, de 27 de mayo, de la Consejería de Educación, Ciencia y Universidades, por la que se convocan ayudas para la contratación de ayudantes de investigación y técnicos de laboratorio para el año 2024, namely 10 June 2024.
  • Be under 30 years of age on the date of recruitment. 
  • Be unemployed up to the day before the date of recruitment.

Specific Requirements
  • Specialisation in Family and Community Nursing (12 points).
  • Specialisation courses (expert, master's degree) in public health, epidemiology and statistics (maximum 12 points).
  • Other training in public health, epidemiology and statistics (maximum 9 points).
  • Training in health information coding (maximum 9 points).
  • Professional experience in public health, epidemiology, health information systems and disease registries (maximum 9 points).
  • Professional experience with oncology patients in the hospital setting (maximum 9 points).

  • Participation in research projects, presentations at conferences and scientific publications (maximum 6 points).
  • Oral and written English (maximum 4 points).

Benefits

The cost of the annual full-time contract (37.5 hours) is 23,982.29 € (including the gross salary and the rest of the recruitment costs), which is equivalent to a gross monthly salary (12 payments) of 1,433.02 €, in accordance with the funding granted by the Community of Madrid for the contract for the ‘Research Assistant’ contract. 
 

Eligibility criteria
  • Academic record, experience and other merits related to the post up to a maximum of 70 points.
  • Personal interview up to a maximum of 30 points.

In any case, a minimum score of 40 points must be obtained in all of the above stages to be eligible for the post.

Selection process

Applications that meet the requirements and are within the call deadline will be examined by an Evaluation Commission composed of three members (a President and two members).

The CV will be assessed together with the merits indicated above. The merits claimed must have been submitted by the closing date for the submission of applications and must be duly documented so that they can be assessed if deemed necessary.

Short-listed candidates will be called for a personal interview.

The place may become vacant if the candidates presented do not meet the conditions requested.

The evaluation committee will take a decision.

In the case of incidents, the evaluation committee will submit the results of the evaluation and the proposed decision to the Board of Trustees.

The Resolution will be published on the FIIBAP notice board and on the website: www.fiibap.es, with the score of the candidates, filling the vacancy in that order, opening a period for the review of the candidature. If no complaints are received within this period, the vacancy will be definitive.
