Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Senior Medical Device Research & Development Engineer (Experimental) within UCD School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering.
This full-time position is funded by a Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF) grant, led by CroíValve Ltd. (https://www.croivalve.com/) in collaboration with Blueacre Technology Ltd. (https://blueacretechnology.com/). The Senior Medical Device Engineer will join an experienced multidisciplinary team focused on the development and evaluation of medical devices in the UCD Medical Device Design Group, part of the UCD Centre for Biomedical Engineering and the School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering.
CroíValve is developing a Best-In-Class minimally invasive solution for severe Tricuspid Regurgitation (TR). This project focuses on developing a preclinically validated solution to enable treatment of >90% of patients with Tricuspid Regurgitation, where UCD will develop state-of-the-art computational models and benchtop test rigs for device performance evaluation.
The Senior Medical Device Engineer (Experimental) will be responsible for the development of a state-of-the-art benchtop assembly capable of assessing device / vessel combined response to simulated pressure waveforms for patient-matched superior vena cava geometry and compliance.

Salary Range: €52,000 - €59,170 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
