The Faculty Council of the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb (hereinafter: the PMF), pursuant to Articles 32(1)(19), 73 and 77 of the Faculty Statutes, announces the following:
C A L L F O R A P P L I C A T I O N S
for the appointment
1) of a teacher to the research-teaching category I position - assistant professor in natural sciences, the field of chemistry, the branch of inorganic chemistry, for an indefinite term and on a full-time basis, to work at the Division of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the PMF, Department of Chemistry – 1 person.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
The Call is open to applicants of either gender on equal terms.
In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, for any point of the Call the applicants must satisfy the requirements set out in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No 119/22).
For point 2 of the Call, the applicants must enclose the following with their application: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship.
The applicants for point 2 of the Call must enclose with their application other supporting documents as a proof of eligibility according to the terms and conditions of the Call in accordance with Article 10 of the Ordinance on the Appointment into Grades and Positions at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science, which can be accessed on the PMF website:
For point 2, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- to have completed a university graduate study programme in Chemistry, research-focused;
- 5 years of working experience in an expert associate position within the system of higher education and science (please enclose the electronic record of the legal employment status i.e. the e-employment history, or a Croatian Pension Insurance Fund certificate and an employer certificate, or the employment contracts; to demonstrate the work experience in the relevant positions);
- to have published, since the last appointment to the position of an expert associate, either as an independent or the first or the main author, a scientific paper, with the provision that such a scientific paper may be replaced by three scientific papers written in co-authorship, or with an independent or the first or the main authorship of three professional papers related to the relevant field (please enclose the published research or professional papers);
- additional condition: - experience related to x-ray diffraction methods of structural analysis and
other methods of examining solid state matter (please enclose the reprints of published papers).
For point 2 of the Call foreign nationals must provide a Croatian language certificate.
For point 2 of the Call, the applicants should enclose with their application a proof of eligibility under the additional terms and conditions in accordance with the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. For point 2 of the Call the applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations should refer to the preference in their application and enclose therewith all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights, as well as all evidence of eligibility and of absence of any impediment to their exercising of the priority placement rights as stipulated under the special regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call and that they have achieved top scores in the selection procedures.
An application shall be deemed duly completed and complete if it contains all the data and the supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements. Incomplete, disorganised, and late applications shall not be taken into consideration, nor will there be a subsequent invitation to the applicants to amend such applications.
The assessment of the applicants for point 2 of the Call may include the following selection procedures:
- an interview with the candidates.
The applicants who are eligible under the formal terms and conditions may be invited to take part in the selection procedure(s).
In the event there will be more than a single selection procedure, the applicants will be invited to take part in individual procedures depending on the results achieved in previous selection procedures.
The applicants will receive an e-mail advising them of the time, place, legal sources and the applicable selection method for any procedure they are invited to take part in.
Any applicant who fails to attend the interview at the time and the place as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.
The PMF collects and processes personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No: 035-01/18-01/5; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).
The closing date for the submission of applications for point 2 of the Call is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette.
The results of the Call will be published on the official website of the PMF: www.pmf.unizg.hr (Competitions).
