The purposes of our research at the MemProt Lab are to explore the mechanistic principles of membrane protein biogenesis, insertion, folding and assembly into lipid membranes, and to investigate the factors that determine membrane protein stability.

We are part of the ERI BioTecMed, is an Structure of Interdisciplinary Research of the University of Valencia in the field of Molecular Biology applied to Biotechnology and Biomedicine with two main objectives:

- Scientific excellence: strengthen and promote research in basic and applied molecular biology in the University of Valencia, enhancing interaction between scientific quality related groups contrasted by external committees.

- Transferability: boost technology transfer activities articulating interactions with companies, especially those located in the the Science Park and the Business Incubator of the University of Valencia, on the topics of biotechnology and biomedicine.
