At the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg the following position is to be filled in the project Innovation Campus Electronics and Microsensor Technology Cottbus as of now:

Academic employee (m/f/d) in the field of antenna design
limited until probably 31.12.2021, full-time, E 13 TV-L

The Innovation Campus Electronics and Microsensors Cottbus conducts research on innovative technologies, processes and methods in the field of high technology. These microsensors and electronic systems based on them are called sensory organs of digitization. On their basis, intelligent evaluation and control algorithms as well as broadband data communication solutions are developed.

For these challenges, we are looking for highly motivated scientists* who want to contribute to the exciting process of structural change. Between Berlin and Dresden, a new scientific landscape is emerging in the former Lusatian coal-mining region that aims to develop groundbreaking future technologies for the world of tomorrow. For the first time, the Innovation Campus synergetically combines the competencies of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, the Leibniz Institutes IHP and FBH as well as the Fraunhofer Institutes IZM and IPMS. As consortium leader, BTU offers several positions for scientists* and engineers*. If you are interested in application-oriented work on future-oriented topics and in developing solutions in close cooperation with the four renowned non-university research institutions, then we look forward to receiving your application.

The position is assigned to a group of the Fraunhofer Institute IZM headed by Dr.-Ing. habil. Ivan Ndip in Cottbus.

Research work:

  • Scientific work within the research focus of the field, in particular:
  • Collaboration in the preparation and implementation of third-party funded projects, here in the project: "Innovation Campus Electronics and Microsensors Cottbus"
  • Design of integrated antennas
  • Lectures and publications on the subject of research
  • Preparation of contributions for reports and presentations
  • other research-related administrative tasks

Requirements:
Completed scientific university studies within the meaning of the TV-L remuneration regulations (accredited master's degree / university diploma / equivalent) in a field relevant to the activity (electrical engineering with specialisation in radio frequency or microwave theory and techniques, or comparable).

Personally you are characterized by the following skills and characteristics:

  • Ability to work scientifically
  • flexibility
  • ability to communicate
  • self-employment

In addition, you should have the following knowledge or signal your willingness to acquire it independently:

  • Experience in the fields of electromagnetic modeling, simulation and measurement of antennas
  • Knowledge in the development of phased array antenna arrays for millimeter wave applications

Very good knowledge of English is also expected.
