OFFER DESCRIPTION

Competition for the position of a researcher: Assistant at the Department of Rural Sociology or the Department of Rural Culture Anthropology

Description of tasks:

a) participation in basic and development research conducted at the Institute,

b) conducting own research,

c) applying for research projects,

d) disseminating the results of scientific work through scientific publications and presentations of research results at conferences and seminars,

e) improvement of professional qualifications, implementation of academic degrees,

f) engaging in the broadly understood organizational activity of the Institute (e.g. organization of scientific, popular science and educational events).

    Sociology: Master Degree or equivalent

    POLISH: Mother Tongue
    ENGLISH: Excellent

Kenntnisse/Qualifikationen

Required qualifications:

a) a master's degree or PhD degree in sociological or related sciences in the field of social sciences or humanities,

b) very good command of the English language, spoken and written, at a level no lower than B2,

c) interest in the issues of social and cultural changes taking place in rural areas,

d) teamwork skills and good work organization,

e) communicativeness, creativity, availability and high personal culture.

Additional qualifications:

a) knowledge of statistical analysis and inference methods,

b) experience in surveys, polls, interviews,

c) organizational experience in the implementation of research projects,

d) knowledge of another modern language.

Professional development opportunities:

a) work in an interdisciplinary team,

b) publishing in domestic and foreign scientific journals,

c) awarding high scores for publications,

d) participation in national and international scientific conferences,

e) participation in study visits and internships in domestic and foreign institutions,

f) developing and enriching the research workshop,

g) possible professional promotion to the position of assistant professor in the first half of 2021, if the candidate holds the PhD degree at the time of employment at the Institute.

Persons interested in participating in the competition are asked to submit the following documents:

a) a declaration of education with a copy of the master's diploma and a copy of the doctoral diploma (if applicable),

b) a cover letter containing the following data: name and surname, date of birth, contact details and the definition of research interests and a proposal of possible issues to be undertaken,

c) statement on the course of professional work, detailing scientific (projects, conferences, internships), didactic and organizational activity,

d) copies of the most important publications from the last five years (if applicable),

e) a declaration of qualifications together with documents confirming the data contained in the declaration (e.g. English language certificate, awards, distinctions),

f) a statement that in the event of winning the competition, IRWiR PAN will be the candidate's primary place of work.
