RESEARCH PROJECT

The BoluCap research project consists of an interdisciplinary, complementary consortium of Flemish partners (3 private partners and 3 academic partners) with the aim to investigate and realize an innovative bolus health monitoring system for goats.

The goal of the Bolucap (Health monitoring bolus for capri) project is to develop a health monitoring system through a bolus located permanently in the goat’s rumen overseeing metabolic parameters such as movement or activity, body temperature, the rumen’s pressure, and also potentially rumen pH. The raw data collected by the bolus will be wirelessly transmitted to a gateway installed in the farm. The purpose of the obtained data is to provide concrete action advice for the farmer on how to perform the (daily) management of that group.
