Reference No. EM 2020/22
The Department Structure and Dynamics of Energy Materials is looking for
PhD student/doctoral researcher (f/m/d) in the field of physics to investigate of electronic defects in novel photovoltaic materials
The PhD student will investigate defects in novel photovoltaic materials including halide and chalcogenide perovskites. Advanced spectroscopic methods will be used together with numerical modeling and advanced statistical methods to pinpoint the defect properties in these semiconductors. Compositional dependence of defect properties will be investigated by evaluating structure-property relationships of unique sample libraries comprising many individual material properties, synthesized with our advanced deposition tools. This research is expected to significantly accelerate the development of novel optoelectronic materials, in particular for photovoltaic applications.
- completed diploma or master degree in physics
- capability to carry out research independently as well as in a team with a high level of scientific excellence
- good knowledge of semiconductor physics
- good ability to communicate scientific findings in English
