Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher position in the Cognitive Neuroimaging lab in NeuroSpin (www.unicog.org) to investigate the neural correlates of conscious perception using electrophysiological recordings and microstimulation in awake, behaving non-human primates. The project is part of the Human Brain Project task, Brain Inspired Consciousness (BRICON). Our objective is to study the activity of neuronal networks at multiple spatiotemporal scales to comprehend the mechanisms mediating conscious perception. The methods include multielectrode, high-density electrophysiological recordings and electrical microstimulation of neuronal ensembles across multiple brain areas.

The data will constrain multiscale brain models in collaboration with the groups of Profs. Alain Destexhe (NeuroPsi, CNRS) and Gustavo Deco (Universitat Pompeu Fabra). BRICON is coordinated by Fanis Panagiotaropoulos (NeuroSpin) and additional partners include Profs. Lucia Melloni (MPIea), Pieter Roelfsema (Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience) and Stanislas Dehaene (NeuroSpin).

    Neurosciences: PhD or equivalent

Kenntnisse/Qualifikationen

We are looking for candidates with a PhD in Cognitive/Systems Neuroscience, Machine Learning, Neural Engineering or related discipline. Previous experience with in vivo electrophysiology and good computer programming skills are desirable.
