EURAXESS Germany – the National Coordination Point at the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (supported by the Federal
Ministry of Education and Research) is an information and advice point for internationally mobile researchers wishing to come to Germany or go abroad to work in research. It is part of the EURAXESS Services Network across Europe. The objective of the centres is to facilitate international mobility amongst scientists and scholars.

The Central Information Portal
EURAXESS Germany manages the web portal www.euraxess.de. The centrepiece of the information portal is a comprehensive funding database. In addition, it provides a wealth of information on everything from residence legislation via social security to job offers. Live assistance is available from the staff at a helpdesk. Every month, the portal is used by thousands of researchers all over the world.

The Network of "research advisors"
EURAXESS Germany regularly invites those who support internationally mobile researchers at universities and research institutions to networking and information events.

The initiator
Its knowledge, abundance of international contacts and hands-on expertise in advising internationally mobile researchers have made EURAXESS Germany into an initiator in science policy debate on researcher mobility – at national, European and international level.

The European dimension
"EURAXESS - Researchers in Motion" is a key initiative in enhancing careers of researchers. This truly pan-European initiative brings together the European Commission and 35 countries to provide a wealth of information on research careers across Europe, personalised assistance to researchers moving to another European country or returning to Europe as well as information on rights and obligations of researchers and research organisations. EURAXESS is divided into the following areas:

EURAXESS Jobs - a stress-free recruitment tool where no charges apply.

EURAXESS Services - a network of more than two hundred centres located in 35 European countries. As a researcher, these centres assist you and your family to plan and organise your stay in a foreign country.

EURAXESS Rights - provides all information regarding the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation signed the European Charta for Researchers in February 2008. The implementation protocol as well as further information can be found on the website of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

EURAXESS Links - provides interactive web services to European researchers working abroad in order to keep them linked among themselves and with Europe.
